AwarD Titles

Breeding Classes: Overall Boar and Sow Grand Champion, Reserve Grand Champion, and Honorable 3rd. Class CH, RS CH, and 3rd will also be named.

Overall Supreme Champion

Reserve Supreme will be named and awarded only if judge does not choose the Grand Winner of the other class as Reserve


Market Classes: Grand Champion & Reserve GR Champion
Youth Showmanship Classes: Grand Champion, Reserve Champion, and 3rd place ribbons

Adult Showmanship Classes: Awards TBD based on number of entries

New Zealand Class : Awards TBD based on number of entries.

Sanctioning Note: When a show is sanctioned by AKKPS, all CH, GR CH, RS GR CH, and SUPREME titles will be awarded via AKKPS in their yearbook, provided that the animal was entered into the show as an AKKPS-registered pig and the owners are AKKPS members. AKKPS winners of New Zealand classes will receive special designations in the AKKPS herdbook. Please refer to the AKKPS sanctioning rules concerning titles.

Grand & Reserve Champion Sow / Gilt

Overall SUPREME CHAMPION
Best animal selected from Grand Champion sow/gilt and boar

Overall Reserve Supreme will be named and awarded only if judge does not choose the Grand Winner of the other class.

Heats within a class will be broken up at judge’s discretion.


Market class

Open to any 100% Kunekune market hog with a litter notification number from either registry.
Animals must be barrows or gilts.
The judge reserves the right to adjust class weight divisions at their discretion if entries are low in a particular weight class.

Class 1 : Under 100 lbs

Class 2: 100 - 149 lbs

Class 3: 150 - 199lb

Class 4: 200lbs +


SHOWMANSHIP Classes

Showmanship Classes focus on how the handler and pig work as a team. Showmanship is a class in which the exhibitor is judged on how well they handle the pig in the show ring.

Youth Showmanship

Lil’ Piglets: 8 and under
Junior: 9 - 13 yrs
Senior Class: 14 - 17 yrs

Adult Showmanship
18 and over


New Zealand Type Classes

This class focuses on New Zealand type and conformation and is judged solely on these qualities by a New Zealand–based judge.

Both Breeding and Market animals are encouraged to enter this class.

Videos submitted for other classes may be resubmitted for this class.

The class will be divided as the judge sees fit, depending on the number of entries.
